The Project

This brick industrial arts facility (built in the 1920’s) was the headquarters of World Impact on the East Coast, also functioning as a private Elementary and Junior High School. The property was only 20% occupied since the 1990’s. Located on approximately 1.80 acres, this four-story building is situated in a highly urbanized section of Newark, New Jersey and is approximately 120,153 square feet. The first floor of the building contains classrooms, administrative offices, or co-exist with a Christian elementary school, storage areas, a gymnasium and an auditorium. The second floor contains classrooms, a kitchen and a cafeteria. The 3rd and 4th floor were vacant with great views and possibilities.

Results

KAM Coastal, in conjunction with Lee & Associates in Newark New Jersey, marketed the property specifically to loft developers and charter schools which are very prominent in New Jersey. A local developer purchased the property and repurposed the building to accommodate KIPP Charter School, K-12.
